Evangelicals are not monolithic in their views on the election of 2020 or on politics in general. Is there room for disagreement? Is it possible to love one another, uphold sound doctrine, maintain our unity, and stay focused on our God-given objectives as a church even while we differ in our political opinions? I believe we can, but it will require us to listen carefully in good faith and humility to one another. We are called to do the hard work of understanding why someone would take a different view than ours. The purpose of this paper is to equip our church to guard the gospel and preserve our integrity during the election of 2020. To do that, we need to objectively consider the wide range of political opinions among the people who call themselves evangelicals.
